Google Business Profile management for locksmiths

Most lockout calls start in Google Maps, not on your website. We set the profile up properly, keep it active every week, and build a demo of your new site before we talk.

Pick a 15-minute time. Your demo is built before the call.

What does this include?

Vevang Sites sets up and manages your Google Business Profile: locksmith category, services like rekeys and car key replacement, real service-area towns, honest hours, van and shop photos, posts and Q&A. We connect it to a locksmith website we build, so the map listing and your pages match. Weekly checks keep it current.

Why it matters

Why it’s different for your trade.

01

The 2am caller never reaches your website

Someone standing outside a clicked-shut door searches on a phone and taps the call button in the map listing. Your profile is the whole sales pitch: name, distance, hours, photos, reviews. If it looks thin or far away, they scroll to the next shop.

02

Locksmith listings get extra scrutiny

Google has spent years cleaning fake locksmith listings out of Maps, so this category gets checked harder than most. A keyword-stuffed name, a mailbox address or a mismatch with your site can get you suspended overnight. Set it up clean the first time.

03

Emergency and planned work need different signals

The lockout caller wants hours and a phone number. The landlord planning a tenant turnover wants rekeying, master keys and proof you handle commercial doors. One profile has to serve both, through services, posts and links to the right page on your site.

What we do

The work, step by step.

01

Claim and verify without getting flagged

We use your legal business name exactly as it appears on your license and van, decide whether you run a shop address or a hidden service-area address, and prepare you for video verification: lettered van, key-cutting equipment, tools, signage, paperwork.

02

Set categories and services the way you work

Locksmith as the primary category, with services written out: house lockout, car lockout, car key replacement and programming, rekeying, lock installation, master key systems, access control, high-security locks, safe opening. Each one gets a short honest description, not a keyword list.

03

Fix hours, calls and messaging

We match your hours to who actually picks up at night. Tracking number primary, shop line as an additional number. Messaging stays off unless you can answer it after hours, because an ignored message reads the same as a missed call.

04

Name your real service area

We list the towns you can reach fast on a busy night instead of a wide radius nobody drives. Each town gets a matching service-area page on the site so the profile and your pages tell Google the same story.

05

Add photos, posts and Q&A that answer callers

Van with lettering, storefront, technician in uniform, key machine, a finished rekey. Posts for moving-season rekeys and commercial door work. Q&A answering the service call fee, night response and which keys you can cut on site.

06

Connect it to the site and keep it moving

We link the profile to the right pages, track calls and forms, request reviews after jobs and reply to them. SEO Ranker reviews the profile and site every week, adds photos and posts, and keeps details accurate.

Common mistakes

What usually goes wrong.

Stuffing keywords into the business name

Names like "24 Hour Emergency Car Key Locksmith Cheap" are the fastest route to suspension in this category, and competitors report them. Use the name on your license, door and invoices. Put the service words in your services and on your site instead.

Claiming 24 hours when nobody answers

A lockout caller who hits voicemail at 3am calls the next shop and sometimes leaves a review saying you never answered. If nights are a rotation, set honest hours and explain on the profile and site exactly when emergency calls are covered.

Creating a second listing for car keys

One shop, one profile. Extra listings for automotive work, a second town or a spare van get both flagged and can take your good listing down with them. Use services and separate website pages to cover car, house and commercial work.

Leaving Q&A and photos empty

An empty profile looks like a lead broker, and strangers will answer your questions for you. Post your own questions and answers about fees, arrival time and chipped keys, and add fresh job photos so the listing looks like a working shop.

Questions

Straight answers.

Do I need a storefront to have a profile?

No. If you work out of a van you can run a service-area profile with the street address hidden. Locksmiths get checked closely, so be ready to show van lettering, key-cutting equipment, tools, invoices and your license during video verification. A real shop address is simpler to verify, but van-based profiles are allowed.

My profile was suspended. What now?

It happens often in this category because Google fights fake locksmith listings. Do not create a second profile. Fix the likely trigger first: a keyword-stuffed name, a virtual address, or details that do not match your site and license. Then file for reinstatement with photos of your van, shop, equipment and paperwork. We work through that with you.

Should I set my hours to open 24 hours?

Only if someone real answers at 3am. Lockout callers who reach voicemail hang up and dial the next listing, and some of them say so in a review. If you cover nights by rotation, set honest hours and state on the profile and site when emergency calls are answered.

Can I use a tracking number on the profile?

Yes. We put the tracking number as the primary phone and keep your shop line listed as an additional number, so the number on your van, invoices and site still matches. Then you can see how many lockout calls come from the map versus your pages, and which planned-work pages bring in rekeys.

How many towns should I list in my service area?

List the towns you actually drive to on a busy night. A huge service area will not put you in every one of those towns, because how close you are to the searcher still counts. Pick the places you can reach fast, name them on the profile, and give each one a page on the site.

Do posts and Q&A really matter?

They answer people before they call and keep the listing looking active. Post rekey reminders during moving season, car key programming, storefront door repairs. In Q&A, cover the real questions: the service call fee, whether you cut and program chipped keys, how fast you arrive at night, and which locks you stock.

Should I explain pricing on the profile?

Explain how pricing works rather than one flat number. Lockout callers have been burned by bait quotes, so say there is a service call fee and that the technician confirms the price before any drilling or cutting starts. Put it in your service descriptions and repeat it on the matching page of your site.

Can you guarantee I rank in the map pack?

No, and nobody can. Google weighs distance, relevance and prominence, and it changes. What we control is a complete verified profile, accurate categories and services, steady photos and posts, reviews requested and replied to, and a locksmith site that matches. SEO Ranker reviews and improves both every week.
