Vevang.ai is an AI financial platform, operated by Vevang AI, that connects your accounts and documents so you can understand your whole financial life. We treat that data as some of the most sensitive there is. This policy explains exactly what we collect, how it's used, and the control you have over it. We never sell your data.
What we collect
Account basics from your Google sign-in (name and email). Financial data you choose to connect through Plaid — account names, balances, transactions, and loan/liability details. Documents you upload (statements, tax returns, agreements, policies) and the text we extract from them. Optional profile details you add yourself (household, date of birth, address, emergency contacts). And the questions you ask the assistant.
How account connections work
Bank, card, loan, and investment connections are made through Plaid, the same bank-grade infrastructure used by major financial apps. Connections are READ-ONLY — Vevang.ai can see balances and transactions but can never move your money. Plaid's consent screen and privacy terms apply to the linking step.
How we use your data
To build your financial picture, answer your questions, and generate documents (net worth, profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow). Every dollar figure is computed deterministically in our own systems — never guessed. To produce written answers, your financial brief and questions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API; this data is not used to train models, and Anthropic's API data-handling terms apply. To let the assistant search across your documents and find the right one, the text of your documents is also sent to Voyage AI, our embeddings provider, which converts it into a numerical representation used only for search — Voyage operates under a zero-retention agreement and does not store or train on your data. We do not use your financial data for advertising, and we never sell or rent it.
Gmail & Drive (only if you connect them)
If you choose to connect Google Gmail and Drive, we request read-only access solely to locate, read, and store your financial and related personal documents — statements, tax forms, agreements, and the everyday proofs life requires, like proof of insurance or proof of residency — into your private library, so the assistant can find the right one and answer your questions when you need them. We do not read unrelated mail or files for any other purpose, and you can disconnect at any time, which revokes our access. Vevang.ai's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: this data is never used for advertising, never sold or transferred, and never used to train generalized AI models.
Storage, security & isolation
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. It lives in a dedicated database and is isolated to your account at the database level: every record is tied to your account and enforced by per-user database access controls, not just application code. The credentials we hold to connect your accounts (Plaid, and Google if you connect it) are additionally encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key stored outside the database, so a database compromise alone never exposes them. Access to your data happens only through authenticated server code — never from your browser.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & data. Deletion removes your connected institutions from Plaid, revokes any Google connection, permanently deletes your uploaded documents, and erases your financial records from our database (this cascades across all of your data). You can also export a complete copy of your data at any time — the export includes everything meaningful to you and excludes only stored access credentials. We retain your data for the life of your account so the assistant can answer over your history; email support@vevang.ai for any privacy request.
Analytics & product usage
We use privacy-respecting, anonymized analytics to understand which features are used. We also keep a record of product actions on your account — for example that you connected an institution, uploaded a document, exported a report, or changed plans — so we can support you and operate the service. This operational record never includes the content of your finances: no balances, transactions, or document contents. No financial data is ever included in analytics.
Launch notifications (optional)
If you give us your email to be notified when our mobile apps launch, we store that email for exactly that purpose: one confirmation and one launch announcement. It is not a newsletter, it is never sold or shared, and you can ask us to remove it at any time at support@vevang.ai.
Your rights & contact
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data. The data controller is Vevang AI, the operator of Vevang.ai. For any privacy request, email support@vevang.ai. We honor deletion and opt-out requests promptly.
