Google Business Profile for Moving Companies

The map listing is where a family with a closing date next Saturday finds you. We set it up, keep it active, and make it match your website.

What does this include?

Vevang Sites sets up and runs your Google Business Profile: mover categories, specialty services, a service area that matches the towns you actually drive, hours that cover Saturdays, crew and truck photos, posts, and Q&A. We connect it to your website and track the calls and quote forms it produces.

Why it matters

Why it’s different for your trade.

01

Last-minute moves start on the map

When helpers cancel or a closing gets pushed up, people search on their phone and call from the map pack. They are not reading three websites. They book the first mover who picks up and confirms a date.

02

People judge a mover before they call

Your photos decide whether you look like a crew with lettered trucks, blankets and dollies, or two guys with a rental. The profile is where that first impression happens, alongside your categories and how you answer reviews.

03

Your service area is set here

A moving company sells travel. The towns listed on your profile shape which searches you can show up in at all. Get the radius and the town list right and you stop paying attention to leads two hours outside your range.

What we do

The work, step by step.

01

Claim, verify and hide the address

Most movers work from a warehouse, a yard or a home office. We verify the listing, then hide the street address and set it as a service area business so you appear across the towns you drive instead of one pin.

02

Fix categories and list real services

Primary category set to the mover category, not storage or transportation. Then secondary categories and service entries that match what you sell: packing and unpacking, piano moving, senior moves, apartment moves, office relocation, loading help.

03

Draw the service area honestly

We list the towns and counties you will actually send a truck to, and leave off the ones you would decline. We note where local ends and long-distance begins, so the quote requests that come in are ones you want.

04

Load photos that show the work

Lettered trucks, the crew in uniform, furniture wrapped and strapped, a staircase job, a piano on a board. We add them on an ongoing basis so the profile keeps showing recent work instead of one old truck shot.

05

Connect the profile to your site

The website button points to your moving quote form, not the homepage. Hours, phone number, service towns and credentials read the same on both. Calls and form submissions from the listing get tracked so you know what the map produces.

06

Keep it active every week

Our SEO Ranker agent works on your site and listing weekly: posts about open dates and midweek gaps, new photos, fresh Q&A, review replies. Rankings cannot be guaranteed, but a quiet profile is easy to beat.

Common mistakes

What usually goes wrong.

Showing a home address or a storage unit

A visible residential address in one suburb tells the map you serve that street, and it tells customers you may not be a real outfit. Hide it, set a service area, and keep your warehouse out of the public listing.

Wrong primary category

Plenty of moving companies sit under storage, transportation service or a general contractor category because that is what got picked during setup. The primary category carries the most weight. If it does not say mover, you are competing at a disadvantage.

No mention of licensing or authority

Movers get compared on credentials. If your USDOT and state license numbers appear on the site but nowhere in the profile description or services, the family collecting quotes has to dig for them. Most will not.

Going silent between busy seasons

Profiles that post through late spring and then stop until next May look abandoned in February. Steady posts about open dates, midweek discounts and off-season availability keep the listing working when the calendar has gaps.

How it works

You see it first. Then you decide.

You don’t sign anything to see it. Book a time, and your demo is ready before we talk.

  1. 01

    Book 15 minutes

Pick a time — often the same day. Tell us your website, or just your business name and city.

  2. 02

    We build your demo

Before the call, we build a demo of your new website from your real business: your services, your area, your reviews.

  3. 03

    See it, then decide

We walk you through the demo on the call. You see exactly what you’d get before you spend anything.

  4. 04

    Launch, then improve weekly

We build it for real and put it live. After launch, the SEO Ranker agent keeps improving it every week.

Questions

Straight answers.

Should I show my warehouse address?

Usually no. If customers do not come to your building to buy a move, hide the address and run the listing as a service area business. You can still keep the address on file for verification. What matters publicly is the list of towns you serve, because that is what customers are searching by.

Which categories should a moving company choose?

Start with the mover category as your primary. Then add secondary categories that match real revenue: packing service, piano moving service, storage if you rent space, and office relocation if you do commercial work. Do not add categories for work you would turn down. They pull in quote requests you have to decline.

Can I show up in towns where I have no office?

You can appear in nearby towns you list in your service area, though listings generally show strongest closer to your verified location. That is why the website matters too. Pages for each city you cover, with real details about those moves, support what the profile claims about your range.

Do I need a separate profile for my storage facility?

If you have a storage building customers visit, with its own hours and staff, it can justify a separate listing with a visible address. If it is just a warehouse where loads sit between legs of a move, keep it as a service on your mover profile instead.

How should I handle reviews about a late crew?

Reply publicly, calmly, with the facts and what you changed. Moving reviews get read closely for care and timing, and future customers watch how you respond more than the complaint itself. We write and post replies for you and send review requests to every customer after the job.

Is Google messaging worth turning on?

It can be, during peak months, if someone will actually watch it. People gathering moving quotes book whoever answers first, and a message that sits for a day is a lost Saturday. If nobody can cover it, leave messaging off and put your effort into answering the phone.

What do you build before our call?

We build a demo of your new moving company website before the 15-minute call, using your service area, your specialty jobs and your real work. You look at it, and we walk through what your current profile is missing. No obligation after that.

How long until the listing produces calls?

Setup fixes like categories, service area and photos can affect visibility fairly quickly. Ranking in competitive towns takes longer and cannot be guaranteed by anyone. What we can do is keep the profile active every week and track which calls and quote forms came from the map.
