Google Business Profile for Auto Repair Shops

Most drivers pick a shop from the map before they ever see your website. Your profile decides whether they call you or the place two exits down.

Pick a 15-minute time. Your demo is built before the call.

What does this include?

Vevang Sites sets up and runs your Google Business Profile: the right repair categories, a service list that matches your bays, hours, photos, posts and Q&A. We connect it to a website we build for your shop, so the map listing and your service pages say the same thing.

Why it matters

Why it’s different for your trade.

01

The map pack is where "near me" ends

A driver with a grinding brake pedal searches on the shoulder or in a parking lot. They see three map results, check hours and reviews, and tap call. If your profile is thin or your hours are wrong, that repair goes to another bay.

02

It answers the questions your front desk repeats

Do you do state inspections. Do you charge for diagnostics. Can I drop off before you open. Do you work on diesels. Put those answers in your services, attributes and Q&A and you stop losing people who never bothered to call.

03

Search tools read the profile and the site together

Assistants and search summaries pull from your map listing and your pages. When your categories, services and website say the same thing, you are easier to describe accurately. Nobody can guarantee what any assistant says, but agreement beats contradiction.

What we do

The work, step by step.

01

Claim, verify and clean up duplicates

Shops change hands and names. Old listings from a previous owner, a former tire franchise or a second suite number still float around. We claim the real one, get it verified, and get the strays merged or removed so reviews and rankings stop splitting.

02

Set categories that match your bays

Primary category is usually auto repair shop. Secondary categories go to work you actually do every week: tires, brakes, oil change, transmission, AC, inspections, alignment. We skip anything you sublet out, because mismatched leads waste your writer's time.

03

Build the service list and attributes

Every service you list should match a page on your site: check engine diagnostics, batteries and alternators, suspension, state inspection. We add the practical attributes too, like restroom, waiting area, wheelchair access, appointment options and early drop-off.

04

Fix hours, the pin and the photos

Many shops sit behind a body shop or off a service road. We set the pin at the driveway a tow truck should use, load real photos of the building, bays, lifts and waiting room, and set Saturday and holiday hours correctly.

05

Connect the profile to the website

The booking link points to your appointment request form, not the homepage. Calls and form fills are tracked so you know which came from the map. Name, address, phone and hours match everywhere, including your contact page.

06

Keep it active every week

SEO Ranker posts seasonal work, AC in spring, batteries and tires when it turns cold, pre-trip checks before holidays. We add real Q&A, upload fresh photos, and reply to reviews so the listing never looks abandoned.

Common mistakes

What usually goes wrong.

Hiding the address behind a service area

Unless you are mobile or roadside only, drivers come to you. Hiding your address to cover more towns usually costs you the "near me" searches happening right around your shop. Keep the storefront address visible and let your service pages cover nearby towns.

One category and nothing else

A profile set only to auto repair shop, with no services listed, gives Google nothing to match against brake, AC or inspection searches. Fill in the service list with the work you actually run through the bays, and describe each one in plain words.

Stuffing the name with keywords

"Ace Auto Repair - Cheap Brakes Oil Change Tires" is not your sign, and the listing can get suspended or edited. Use the name on the building. Put the services in the service list where they belong.

Photos and hours that went stale

A single blurry lot photo from years ago, hours that say open on a holiday you close, and a phone number from the old owner. Drivers notice, and one wrong hour costs you a customer who might have stayed for ten years of oil changes.

Questions

Straight answers.

Which categories should an auto repair shop use?

Primary is almost always auto repair shop. Add secondary categories for work you genuinely perform in house each week, such as tire shop, brake shop, oil change service, transmission shop, auto air conditioning service, wheel alignment service or car inspection station. Leave off anything you sublet out. Wrong categories bring calls you have to turn away.

Should I hide my address and set a service area instead?

Not if drivers bring cars to you. Your storefront address is what connects you to searches near the shop. Set a service area only if you run mobile or roadside work, and even then keep the shop address if you have a bay. If you cover several towns, build service area pages on the website instead.

How often does the profile need a post?

Regular beats occasional. We post seasonal work: AC and cooling checks when it warms up, batteries and tires when the first cold snap hits, pre-trip inspections before holiday travel. Posts keep the listing looking active and give drivers a reason to tap through. They are not a ranking guarantee, and we will not pretend otherwise.

What photos actually help?

The building as a driver sees it from the road, the entrance and customer parking, the bays and lifts, your techs working, the waiting area and restroom, and the sign. Skip stock photos of engines. Avoid readable license plates on customer vehicles. Refresh a few images regularly so the shop looks open and busy.

The previous owner's listing is still out there. What now?

That happens whenever a shop changes hands or rebrands. We find every version, claim what we can, and request merges or removals for the rest. Reviews on the older listing often carry over when listings merge. Then we make sure the name, address and phone match your sign, your site and your invoices.

Do the questions on the profile matter?

Yes, and anyone can answer them, including people who have never been to your shop. Add the questions your front desk answers daily: diagnostic fee, drop-off box, loaner or shuttle, customer-supplied parts, diesel or European makes, inspection availability. Answering them yourself keeps the information accurate and cuts down on calls you do not want.

Can you guarantee the top spot for "auto repair near me"?

No, and nobody honest can. Rankings depend on where the driver is standing, competition in your area and things Google does not publish. What we control is a complete profile, matching website pages, steady reviews and weekly improvements. That is the work that moves you up over time, and we report what it does.

How does this connect to the website?

The profile's booking link points to your appointment request form. Each listed service matches a page, so a driver searching brake repair lands on your brake page, not the homepage. Calls and form submissions are tracked, so you can see what the map brings in. We will build a demo site for your shop before our first call.
